Brussels, Belgium

From Paris, we took the high speed Thalys train to Brussels and checked into Le Metropole Brussels Hotel, built in 1895 as a bank and later converted into a hotel. The architecture is dripping old period charm and character. We later found out that the hotel is in actual fact a tour stop for the city's Heritage Tours.

The Atomium - site of unique architecture, created on occasion of 1958 World Expo, symbol of energy and modernity at the time. It consists of 9 spheres (8 on each of the tops and one in the centre) The structure replicates the iron crystal enlarged 165 billion times!!
